Linux

I want to create a user friendly experience for linux because I want as little friction as possible and trying Vanilla OS 2.0 made me realize that you do not need to install packages to have a working system. Granted it comes with a lot of caveats.

The base system can be anything. Vanilla OS, Arch, NixOS, Fedora Silverblue, Alma, Debian, etc.

To use software you need the following tools ordered by priority:

  • Appimages
  • flatpak
  • distrobox
  • podman and podman-compose
  • libvirt

Search for packages in repology and pkgs.org.

Some packages are covered in alma.
